frequently asked questions
DOES THE GLASS GET DIRTY EASILY FROM PEOPLE GRABBING IT?
Yes, this can happen if many people are grabbing the glass for support. We recommend installing an additional grab rail to the posts on the stairs and in high traffic areas so that people can grab on to something.
DOES THE GLASS SCREW IN, OR IS IT FREE STANDING?
The glass does not screw in to the rails. It is wedged in glass brackets between posts and supported by a rubber gasket. It has been engineered for safety.
WILL THE CORNER OF THE GLASS BE SHARP?
We special order glass with rounded edges on top, creating a smooth finish and avoiding sharp edges.
DO YOU HAVE GLASS IN STOCK?
No, each piece is custom cut to fit your project. What this means for you is that you’ll have an even 1 1/2″ spacing between the glass and the post. Which creates a consistent even look for you.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE GLASS, ONCE WE HAVE PLACED AN ORDER?
The average length of time is 2-3 weeks, but we will confirm the timelines upon you putting the order in.
WHAT’S THE LARGEST SPAN OF GLASS YOU CAN USE?
Our railing system is approved to have sections of topless glass in 5ft spans.
HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE GLASS?
The easiest way to clean tempered glass is to use Windex, an alternative to cleaning glass railing is to use vinegar and water. A squeegee is very helpful as well.
